Karate Five Association

Below are pictures from Karate Five's attendance and participation in the 2019 Annual Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame (IHOF) Awards Banquet and Tournament held in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. Additional pictures are shown in Awards Banquet Gallery.

On Friday, July 19, Karate Five instructors, staff and students registered for the event to participate in demonstrations and seminars throughout the day, including Melbert Lee Jr., Seminar, "Getting Home at Night."

Melbert Lee Jr., presented techniques for one-on-one demonstrations of various training systems of self defense during his seminar, titled "Getting Home at Night." Later that evening the Awards Banquet was held to present the 2019 finalists for induction into the Isshin-ryu Hall of Fame (IHOF).

During this part of the evening, Melbert Lee Jr., was inducted into the the 2019 Isshin--ryu Hall of Fame and became the first father and son inductees in its history. His father was Melbert Lee Sr., who was inducted in 2001 into the IHOF and became one of Karate Five's Fallen Warriors in December 2017.

On Saturday, July 20, an early day of tournament activities started us off at 9:00 a.m. for a busy day of competitions and non-stop martial art events in all age groups.
